The sharp but hard-to-reach murder investigator Hanne Wilhelmsen is wheelchair-bound after a shooting drama. During a snowstorm, Hanne is on a train to Narvik. Suddenly, the train crashes due to an avalanche, and the passengers are forced to take shelter in an isolated mountain hotel where two murders take place. Together with the Norwegian doctor Magnus, Hanne tries to find out what has happened.
