Aava yearns for a dog. Her father creates a peculiar test: if she can walk a stick for two weeks, she'll get a dog. As Aava grows attached to the stick, tension mounts between her parents. Aava's mother sees her husband's test as a diversion from taking responsibility. Family strife ensues, altering Aava's journey in surprising ways.
