The Sword of Swords
Jimmy Wang Yu had just exploded into superstardom as 'The One-armed Swordsman' when he teamed with legendary choreographers Lau Kar-leung and Tang Chia for this exciting tale of master martial artists vying for a “weapon of exceptional brilliance”.
Brothers Five
The terrific team of director Wei Lo (who helmed Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan’s first major movies) and superstar swords woman Pei-Pei Cheng (famous for 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon') create another high-action winner of brotherly love... and death.
The Young Master (1980)

King Boxer
Months before Bruce Lee burst into the international scene with Enter the Dragon, this powerful story of tragedy, torture, redemption, and revenge premiered across America under the unforgettable title "Five Fingers Of Death". And, under that title, it went on to become the first international martial arts movie hit, and a perennial best-selling video. It made a continent-spanning star of Lo Lieh, and established the Shaw Brothers as the preeminent studio for high quality action and adventure. Now, finally, after more than thirty years, the original King Boxer takes its rightful place as the film that started it all for the Western world. Not surprisingly, the tale of an honorable fighter’s retraining in the “Iron Palm” style after corrupt invaders crush his hands remains as potent and exciting as when it premiered.
The Shadow Whip
This top ten box office hit reunites the star duo from “Come Drink With Me” in another classic tale of action and intrigue. Cheng Pei-Pei (a quarter-century before gaining Hollywood fame as the villainess of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) radiates grace and beauty while wielding the deadly “shadow whip.” The weapon is almost as major a character as Cheng, implicated as it is in multiple murders, a major heist, and an enigmatic mystery that sets in motion a pursuit by both good and evil knights. Cheng finds herself in the eye of the storm, and whether single-handedly fighting sixteen bandits or avenging her father’s brutal end, she demonstrates why she was Hong Kong cinema’s number one swordswoman - and no slouch when it came to the whip!
Return of the One-armed Swordsman
"One-Armed Swordsman" revolutionized the kung-fu film, paving the way to the Golden Age and new wave era, which has made Hong Kong action cinema one of the most respected in the world. It was also a gigantic box-office hit, and overwhelming popular demand called for a sequel. Director Chang Cheh truly proved that he was indeed the “Godfather of the Kung-fu Film” by mounting a follow-up which many say is even more accomplished and exciting than the original. Jimmy Wang Yu is back as one-armed hero Fang Kang, who just wants to lead a quiet life … until the Eight Demon Swordsmen won’t take “no” for an answer. That’s their mistake: Fang takes them all on, and more, in this fight-filled, action packed adventure which clearly proves that one arm, attached to the right hero, is better than sixteen.
The Assassin
In the same year, director/writer Chang Cheh and star Jimmy Wang Yu revolutionized Hong Kong kung-fu cinema with One-Armed Swordsman, they also collaborated on this epic of the Six Kingdoms era. Here, Yu is a two-armed swordsman who is also a Wei Empire patriot. Inside the Han Empire, Han Kuei who comes from the royal family, is actually assumed full power and he wants to eliminate loyal officer Yen Sui. Later, our main character is betrayed by a jealous rival and becomes a village butcher. When he meets Yen Sui accidentally, he is sent back on the road of vengeance. Chiao Chiao, the lovely and talented costar of One-Armed Swordsman, here plays Hsia Ying, the love of the hero’s life, and the strong woman who survives to protect their child.
