Etter at en komet passerte jorden spres det et livstruende virus i den tette asken som nå daler ned over planeten vår. Alle kvinner som kommer i kontakt med viruset blir alvorlig syke og dør raskt, mens mennene overlever. For Eva, Will og alle andre blir livet et mareritt. Sick and lost, Lily (Madeline Brewer) collapses at the doorstep of Adam (Nick Blood) and Ella (Lydia Wilson) who operate a secret distillery in the middle of Appalachia.
