Srdan Sarenac
Riders
Slovenia, spring of 1999. Two friends from a small village transform their mopeds into choppers and embark on a journey, traveling through dreams of the past and visions of the future, looking for freedom and love. On the road through Slovenia and Croatia, two countries just recently separated from Yugoslavia, they are accompanied by a young runaway woman with a mysterious past and an old biker. Personal values are tested, and free will is questioned.
Village Without Women
Atop a mountain in Southwest Serbia the Jankovic brothers hold the fort in the womanless village of Zabrdje. In a hilarious narrative this well-crafted doc follows the brothers' quest to bring women back to the once vibrant community. But with no running water or roads, convincing Serbian women is out of the question. Instead they turn their eyes across the border to Albania and extend an olive branch to the women of their old enemy.
