Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love
"Marianne & Leonard – Words of Love" er en vakker historie om den unike kjærligheten mellom Leonard Cohen og hans norske kjæreste og store inspirasjon Marianne Ihlen, som blant annet inspirerte ham til å skrive en av hans mest kjente låter «So Long Marianne». Forholdet deres startet på den idylliske greske øyen Hydra i 1960, hvor de begge var en del av et bohemsk samfunn bestående av kunstnere, forfattere og musikere. Filmen følger deres forhold fra starten av tiden på Hydra, en tid full av «fri kjærlighet» og åpne ekteskap, og til hvordan forholdet deres utviklet seg da Leonard Cohen ble en berømt musiker. Kjærlighetshistorien mellom Marianne og Leonard varte livet ut. Underveis i filmen får vi se hvordan livet på den vakre øyen Hydra utfoldet seg, oppturene og nedturene i Leonards karriere, og den inspirerende kraften som Marianne besatte. Marianne og Leonard døde med tre måneders mellomrom. Men rett før Marianne døde fikk hun tilsendt et brev. Et kjærlighetsbrev fra Leonard.
