"Once a renowned con-couple who were never caught, Rakesh Trivedi (Saif Ali Khan) and Vimmi Saluja (Rani Mukerji) aka Bunty and Babli, now live a reformed life in a sleepy heartland town of Phursatganj with their son Pappu and a midlife crisis. One fine day, their quiet life gets turned upside down when their trademark sigil starts appearing across India in a spate of con jobs. An over-ambitious Inspector Jatayu Singh (Pankaj Tripathi) picks them up for questioning, only to find out that a couple of imposters are pulling off con-jobs under Bunty and Babli’s name. This doesn't go well with the original Bunty and Babli. Inspector Jatayu threatens Rakesh and Vimmi to join him in the hunt for imposters. A reluctant Rakesh and Vimmi join half-heartedly. The hunt begins and they retrace all the cons executed by imposters and find a way to nab them. But the new Bunty (Siddhant Chaturvedi) and Babli (Sharvari) are up for all the challenges. They manage to escape by the thinnest of margins. A frustrated Inspector Jatayu rebukes Rakesh and Vimmi saying that they have lost their steam and are better off as nobodies in a godforsaken town.Hurt by his words, Rakesh and Vimmi’s hearts are now set on fire. They decide to go after the imposters with all their energy to regain their respect. They connect with friends from their previous cons to help them. The resurrected team now goes full throttle and lays a trap so elaborate that the imposters never see through it. A humorous and thrilling cat-n-mouse chase begins.As the 4 con artists cross each other’s paths, a strange dynamic starts evolving where they share a lot of banter and heart-to-heart moments. But just when you think their eye is not on the prize, you are mistaken. Amit is found wounded on railway tracks and when he awakens he has no memory of who he is and doesn't remember anything about his life. Six years later he is living with a wealthy couple and is now named Naresh Dutt. One day he begins to regain his memory when he watches a film and realises that the actress in the film is related to him somehow. It is then that he discovers the actress in the film is none other than his wife Rekha Roy. He finds out that she is now a very successful film actress changing her name to Sunita Devi and her manager is none other than Ranjeet Malik who was once his best friend. In flashbacks he remembers that his real name is Amit Roy and Ranjit was the one who attempted to kill him six years earlier by throwing him off the train he was travelling on with Rekha. Amit also discovers that his young son who is now 10 years old has been sent to a boarding school and sets out a plan to regain custody of his son. First however he plans on taking revenge against Ranjit. Amit comes up with a plan to re-enter Rekha and Ranjit's lives by disguising himself as a film producer. He meets with Rekha and Ranjit and offers Rekha the opportunity to act in his new film titled Do Anjaane. Rekha and Ranjit grow suspicious of Naresh Dutt as they start to realise that he bears a striking resemblance to Rekha's supposedly deceased husband Amit Roy and the storyline of his film eerily mirrors Rekha's past life.
