When Sachin meets the daughter of this family Jessie he falls head-over-heels in love with her and even professes love to her. But Jessie confides to Sachin that she does not want a romantic relationship but would prefer friendship due to certain norms of her family and then all is revealed to her family with her dad arranging her marriage elsewhere leading to fisticuffs between Jessie's brother Jerry and Sachin. After this it looks like his dream of being with Jessie will never come through.
