Oscar Scherlin
Passenger
Innsbruck. Hokkaido. Edmonton. Revelstoke. Haines. Queenstown. Stubai Glacier. Many have passed through these places over the last two years; workers, travelers, adventurers…among them was a collection of friends bonded by a shared affinity for chasing snow to all corners of the globe. This group of skiers has come to be known as Legs of Steel, and they’ve been travel companions for a long time. From their last two seasons of travel, through dedicated production comes a new film, Passenger. A cinematic journey that spans four continents, the film aims to reveal the endless spectrum of emotions and experiences from each location. With the help of Old Man Winter himself, a story is woven through the twists and turns of a season, shedding light on how it feels to be a constant passenger. Starring in the film are LOS original members Paddy Graham, Bene Mayr and Thomas Hlawitschka, as well as close friends Sven Kueenle, Oscar Scherlin, Fabian Lentsch, Tobi Tritscher, Tom Leitner and Sebi Geiger along with Freeride World Tour star Sam Smoothy, X Games champ Russ Henshaw and Olympic Gold medalists Joss Christensen and David Wise.
The Lost
Being creative and taking your own path in skiing is one that rings very true with Legs of Steel, so it is an honour to have worked and filmed this year with such a close-knit and handpicked team of riders. This is something that the crew will always strive to have at the heart of the project, and continuing to work with an increasing network of talented friends who you are just as likely to be having a beer with at the house in Innsbruck as you are trusting with your life on some crazy line or feature will always be a priority. This year, along with the regular posse of Bene Mayr, Thomas Hlawitschka, Paddy Graham, Tobi Reindl and Sven Kueenle, come on an adventurous and anarchic voyage to streets of the Ukrainian capital Kiev with Max Hill, Lolo Favre, Frej Jönsson and Antti Ollila. See what skiing Europe's finest backcountry terrain in Davos and Arlberg throws up with the likes of Tobi Tritscher, Tom Leitner and Oscar Scherlin, then venture to British Columbia...firstly with some special 'old boys' and then on the hunt for deeper snow and bigger lines. Undoubtedly, if Legs of Steel was a Rock Band then The LOSt comes in the tradition of a self-titled album release...an act of elegant simplicity that epitomises the alliance and style of the crew.
