Patrick is a high-spirited guy who works as a part-time waiter and painter to save money to send his sister Mai Mai to school. He has been his sister’s only family when their mother Miriam tragically dies from a hit and run accident. Jillian is a shy violinist from a rich family. She plans to pursue her studies in music in Amsterdam and for some unapparent reason she avoids being involved in any romantic relationship. Until one day, Patrick and Jillian cross paths in a subway. Patrick is immediately smitten by Jillian’s beauty so he tries everything he could to meet her again by painting her face on street walls. He even hired a blind guitarist to serenade Jillian at her school. Jillian gives Patrick a chance thus their love starts to blossom and grow. Jillian happily invites Patrick for a dinner at her house so she could introduce him to her parents. Upon learning Patrick’s economic status, Jillian’s mother Karen tells Patrick that he is not suited for her daughter. The couple keeps their relationship despite Karen’s antagonism. Many years had passed yet Jessica (Julia Montes) still feels guilty over having lost her sister Joanna, then a toddler, at the beach. Her mother Amy (Agot Isidro) has never gotten over the loss and continues to search for Joanna, who unknown to them has been found and raised as Anna by a fisherman’s family. At a swimming competition, Jessica competes with her estranged sister Joanna/Anna (Kathryn Bernardo) who nervously goes to the comfort room humming a familiar tune which Amy recognizes, making her assert that Anna is her lost daughter. After comparing pictures with Anna’s adopted mother Lerma (Lolot De Leon), Amy confirms that Anna Is Joanna and persuades her to come home. But Jessica gets insecure and resents all the attention being showered on Joanna. Jessica becomes harsh and difficult with Joanna then challenges her to a race at sea, but Jessica drowns, prompting Joanna to save her. Joanna decides to go back to her adopted family while Jessica recovers and asks for Joanna.
