En ung, jødisk mann finner frem sitt talent som passforfalsker for å redde sin store kjærlighet – og mange andre – fra nazistene. Men nettet strammes mer og mer om ham. Mens folk rundt ham faller i klørne på nazistene, må han i siste øyeblikk prøve å flykte fra byen med et siste forfalsket ID-kort i lomma – sitt eget.
