Gregory bor i en skotsk småby, han elsker fotball, men laget hans går ikke så bra. Når treneren holder et åpen uttak, kommer Dorothy og prøver, og da hun viser seg å være bedre enn alle gutta på laget, tar hun Gregorys plass som spiss. Gregory har ikke noe imot det, fordi han plutselig er blitt forelsket. Han har desto mer trøbbel ved at resten av laget ser ut til å være det også.
