Honey Talk Nelson enlists the aid of his cousin Virgil Yokum to fix a horse called “My Sheba” before a big race. It’s the only way that Honey Talk can pay off a big debt to bookie Jumbo Schneider. But when Nelson meets Phyllis Leigh, the beautiful owner of the horse to be fixed, and Virgil spies Autumn Claypool, the luscious lady veterinarian, it’s obvious that the team of Nelson and Yokum will do everything possible to help “My Sheba” win, and worry about Jumbo later.

Martin wants to see action rather than the drudgery of his current post. Lewis, who is a klutz, wants to stay out of combat.
