Malaya, a mass communication graduate, embarks on a new journey when she reunites with her mother who is working as an OFW in Italy. As she struggles to fit into her new home, she meets Santiago, an ambitious Filipino undergraduate who is born and raised in the European country. Both in pursuit of their big dreams, the two slowly develop a special connection with each other. Malaya's desire to stay by her mother's side and abide by her wishes clashes with Santiago's hunger for freedom from his father's expectations. She parts ways with him, hoping that their time apart will help them sort out their responsibilities. However, the two face heartbreak as soon as they reunite years later. "Childless Claire (Maricel Soriano) opposes adopting a child and is devastated when her husband Jeremy (Derek Ramsay) seeks legal separation.
