Sandy Veloso (Kim Chiu) is a modern-day ugly duckling who is obsessed with her boyfriend. After being dumped by her beau, Sandy is left to ponder why she feels unwanted. Matters turn worse for Sandy when she gets laid off from the company she is working for, under the leadership of its new bachelor CEO, Alex Prieto (Xian Lim). Realizing his mistake when employees belatedly put in a good word for Sandy, Alex hires her back, and the two start forming an unlikely friendship. He promises to help transform her into a girl that any man would want to keep, while she helps him turn around the fortunes of his recording company. Sandy stands by Alex, not only out of the kindness of her heart but because she sincerely believes in him. They soon discover an attraction to each other and after a passionate kiss, Sandy is once again ready to give her heart to Alex. But when a setback in the company leads Alex to diminish a kiss they have shared, Sandy toughens up and leaves Alex.
