The 6th February 1952 is a date etched into the hearts and minds of the entire British Royal family. The sad death of King George VI heralded the beginning of the reign of his daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, and in 2022 we celebrate her extraordinary seven decades on the throne, as she keeps her promise to dedicate her life to her duty, and to us all. Throughout those 70 years Her Majesty the Queen has been a beacon of hope. She has been a cornerstone to the values we hold so dear in our little island called Great Britain, and she has been an inspiration in the wider Commonwealth and to the rest of the free world. After a difficult few years as a nation battling with covid, and for Queen Elizabeth, losing her beloved husband Philip, her platinum jubilee has been a chance to lift the grey veil, and for a nation to join together in celebration once more. She promised us, we will meet again, and we have. She has brought us together, and given us something special to celebrate. Join us, as we experience the highlights of her Platinum Jubilee.

Remembering Prince Philip

Remembering Prince Philip

Dokumentar

Prince Philip's death proved to end an era for the Royal Family. He had been at the Queen's side for 73 years and served most of them as her consort - assisting her in her duties. But he also had a remarkable life of his own and was a Royal Navy hero thanks to his brave actions in the Second World War and set up the pioneering Duke of Edinburgh's Award. He was also a patron, president and member of more than 700 organisations and had a passion for the natural world, engineering and technology. These aspects of his life were celebrated at his memorial service at Westminster Abbey, which nearly all his family members attended. And as the years go on, the memory of Prince Philip remains strong; it seems several family members are keen to keep his memory and legacy alive…
