The 12x championship McLaren team has specially prepared one of its F1 race cars for 7x NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson so he can show the world what he can do behind the wheel of a F1 race car. 2x Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso will be part of history piloting the No. 48 Chevrolet around the Bahrain Int. Circuit, the first time a NASCAR Cup Series race car has been on a F1 track in the Middle East. Prior to the exhibition, Johnson will visit McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey, England to tour the facility and be one of the first NASCAR drivers to utilize the state of the art F1 simulator to gain valuable experience before getting behind the actual wheel a few short days later. On his way to Bahrain, Johnson will visit Alonso and the McLaren team in Abu Dhabi for the season ending F1 race and Alonso’s last race in F1.
