Meghan Markle, Californian, Former actress and wife of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Wallis Simpson, American socialite and wife to Prince of Wales Edward VIII, both had an undeniable love for their husbands. Following news from the press, both duchesses would receive immense scrutiny amongst the British public and tabloids once marrying into the royal family. Wallis Simpson was an American socialite who had been married twice when she met Edward, Duke of Windsor (then the Prince of Wales), at a party. Meghan Markle was an American Actress who met Prince Harry through a mutual friend, and after a few dates with the prince, everything changed. Meghan and Harry's relationship led to an avalanche of tabloid interest, some of it tinged with racism. In the weeks before their wedding, they were the victims of harsh online attacks as well as optimism for the future. Meghan's rise to the top of British society revealed some deep-seated issues in a multicultural country.
