A convicted murderer is escorted by marshals on a commercial flight that's intended to depart from Phoenix for New York. Shortly after taking off, two of his aides, disguised as ordinary passengers, seize control of the flight and free him. He demands 20 million dollars in bonds upon the plane's landing, and a sick passenger, bad weather, and mechanical problems can't stop him.
