Demetri Martin writes, directs and stars in the heartfelt comedic drama about a father and son learning how to cope with loss. Martin plays Dean, a New York illustrator still mourning the death of his mother after almost a year. Dean’s father, Robert (Kevin Kline) is also having a difficult time moving on and has resolved to sell Dean’s childhood home, much to his son’s dismay. Hoping that a change of scenery will prove therapeutic, Dean travels to Los Angeles, where he finds romance with Nicky (Gillian Jacobs). Meanwhile, Robert is drawn to Carol (Mary Steenburgen), the real estate agent selling their old home. As they struggle to grieve in their own ways, father and son are brought closer together.
