The Mckenzie Break
A WWII film about an elaborate escape plan launched by the prisoners of Camp McKenzie, a POW camp for German soldiers in Scotland. When a Luftwaffe pilot mysteriously murdered in the compound, an Irish intelligence agent (Brian Keith) is sent to the camp to open an investigation. He discovers that the plan, engineered by the German captain (Helmut Griem), involves a pickup by a U-boat off the coast. In an intense, suspenseful, cat-and-mouse game--augmented by the return to the camp of the factionalism that fomented the Nazi upheaval in Germany--Keith allows the prisoners to escape in the hopes of capturing the U-boat. But his plan goes awry and all but two of the Germans will escape, leaving Keith to face disciplinary action...Based on the novel "The Bowmanville Break" by Sidney Shelley.
