Amos Kollek
Kollek
The true story of one of Israel’s founding fathers. Kollek chronicles the life of Teddy Kollek beginning with his days as a Zionist leader to his rescue of 3,000 Jews from Nazi Germany and his unparalleled 29 years as mayor of Jerusalem. Guest appearances from Frank Sinatra, George Schultz, and Ted Kennedy.
Chronicling a Crisis
A prolific novelist and filmmaker, Amos Kollek found international success with feature films such as Worlds Apart, Goodbye New York, Forever Lulu (Hanna Schygulla, Alec Baldwin, Deborah Harry), Double Edge (with Faye Dunaway), Sue (Winner International Press Award -- Berlin), and Fast Food, Fast Women (nominated for the Palm D'Or, Cannes 2000.) However, after the failure of his film Happy End starring Audrey Tautou, the award-winning director took a penetrating look at the addiction that is filmmaking. Over 7 years, Kolleck turned the camera on himself, chronicling his family from 2004 to the present, especially his strained relationship with his father, the mythical mayor of Jerusalem for 28 years. Intertwined with Amos's story is the story of Robin Remias, a drug-addicted NY prostitute who Amos meets on his quest to fund his next film. Both struggle with their highs and lows trying to find some harmony to help them proceed to the future. Moving in between Israel and New York, the film, says Kollek, is about me, trying to find myself and get back on my feet.

Fast Food Fast Women
How important is the truth when falling in love? Bella is a Manhattan café waitress, about to turn 35, stuck in a long-term affair going nowhere. Paul is a widower, facing old age alone. Bella's mother sets her up with Bruno, a novelist/cabbie who likes to bed-hop and whose ex-wife expects their two children to stay with him for awhile. While Bruno learns some maturity from his young daughter, Paul answers a personals ad placed by a "widow, 60."
Sue
A critically-acclaimed arthouse classic, Sue tells the story of one of the lonely souls inhabiting Manhattan during a cold New York winter. Played by Anna Thompson, Sue begins to despair after she loses her job and struggles to find companionship. Her tenuous grasp on reality further fluctuates when a man (Matthew Powers) whom she met in a restaurant and started an affair is called to go to India for an assignment. But when he is sent on a mission to India, her great descent begins, and her obsessive need for physical content becomes dangerous. Called by The New York Times "a wrenching portrait of a psychologically disordered woman", Sue won two major awards at the 1998 Berlin International Film Festival.
